Unity Farm as it looked in the summer of 1919, shortly after the Fillmores bought the property.

The Initial Purchase

On June 27, 1919, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore purchased 58 acres of land outside Lee's Summit, Missouri, from Warren W. Thurston. They envisioned a clean, quiet place for Unity workers to spend their weekends and vacations. This initial investment formed the nucleus of what became known as Unity Farm.
