Eric Butterworth
Butterworth lectures on God's response to human needs.
Themes in His Sunday Lectures
The Sunday service bulletins and titles of lectures from more than 50 years of ministry show he spoke on a wide range of topics as he was eager to share the theology that worked so well for him. An important note is that Eric Butterworth referred to his talks as lectures rather than sermons. He perceived sermons as being opportunities for people to impart dogma, expecting listeners to accept the sermon at face value. Instead, Butterworth provided information so that each person could determine which ideas worked best for them.
His lectures focused on four major themes: the nature of God, the divinity of humanity, the awareness that life is consciousness, and the example of Jesus. He also offered tools that when used appropriately would help people unfold their lives to the highest good.
