Unity Inn

Food grown and produced by Unity Farm also served another of Unity's endeavors: Unity Inn. In 1906, the Fillmores founded Unity Inn as Kansas City's first vegetarian restaurant. After operating out of a few locations in Kansas City, the restaurant moved to Unity Farm, and in 1931 it was housed in an English Cotswold-style building called the Terrace Tea Room. It featured multiple levels, including a lower patio terrace and a large dining room with gilded columns. Much of the food served in the restaurant came from Unity Farm, including fruits and vegetables from the orchards and milk and ice cream from their herd of cows. In 1951, the restaurant later moved to the Administration building and readopted the name Unity Inn.
